The Bird family – Greg, his wife and their two children, who are aged 8 and 11 – have invested in two Lifeplan Education Bonds (which are offered by friendly society and Friendly Societies of Australia member Australian Unity), one for each child. The bonds were established soon after the birth of each child. The family is planning to use earnings from the education bonds to help fund high school and tertiary education for the children.
